Openarena do not work too black screen only. DRI "False" is good override. For me this version simply doesn't work. The moment I see mouse pointer and kdm login window X server restarts. And it can go like this forever - show login window and restart, show login window and restart... Different hardware. I have i915. For me this one is even much better than 2.7.1, but still 0 3D with DRI on. Also when I inseted USB flash drive Xorg just hanged. I turned DRI off and xorg do not hanged any more. Fixed with mesa-7.4.4 update. (In reply to comment #2) > For me this version simply doesn't work. The moment I see mouse pointer and kdm > login window X server restarts. Hi, Video chipset: GMA 965 Software: Mesa 7.4.4 xorg-server 1.6.2-r1 kernel 2.9.28.7 Using glxgears or openarena, most of the 3D isn't drawn. I was able to play OpenArena but as soon as I take the flag I'm surrounded by black shapes and I see black flags and black rockets ;) Glxgears barely displays something, and displays more if I resize the window. I experienced the same thing with a kernel 2.6.31-rc3 I just compiled, but I didn't try to enable UXA explicitly in xorg.conf so I gonna give it a try. (In reply to comment #2) > For me this version simply doesn't work. The moment I see mouse pointer and kdm > login window X server restarts. However I think we should create another bug report because this seems to be a different issue than the one that was originally described in this one. (In reply to comment #2) > For me this version simply doesn't work. The moment I see mouse pointer and kdm > login window X server restarts. And it can go like this forever - show login > window and restart, show login window and restart... The same issue here, on a Samsung X20 with Intel 915. Upgrade to mesa 7.4.4 did _not_ help. Hi guys, Video chipset: GMA 965 Software: Mesa 7.4.4 Intel 2.7.99.902 xorg-server 1.6.2-r1 kernel 2.9.30-r2 Same problems with opengl base apps. Cheers intel gm965 mesa 7.4.4 libdrm 2.4.12 xorg 1.6.2.-r1 kernel 2.9.30-r1 intel 2.7.99.902 same issue, X working fine, 3D performance is about 60% lower OK, X doesn't restart anymore. Issue was solved and fixed in Bug 278226. Yet, glxgears doesn't show anything. First, it shown a Windows with white noise in it. The second time, it only showed a black rectangle. *** Bug 278556 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Tomas just committed mesa-7.5 to portage, please try it out as it should be much much better than 7.4. Please do report back. Thanks (In reply to comment #14) > Tomas just committed mesa-7.5 to portage, please try it out as it should be > much much better than 7.4. > > Please do report back. Fixed the issue for me. Now, glxgears works fine. Also tried Compiz and it works like a charm. This and bug #278226 have cured all the ills I had with this driver version. Thanks to all. Reopening Phew! Well at least _something_ is working correctly :) Thanks to both of you for the follow up, I appreciate it. And closing with the proper resolution. SO I updated to mesa-7.5-r1 and now startx gives nice black screen. I will have to get mesa-7.4.4 back. Probably another bug. Startx should have nothing to do with mesa unless you run compiz or another compositing manager. Please file a new one. Thanks |
