By the way, i just tested it with °C and °F. Today i found out: °C uses different font. °F uses different font. K uses system font! This is an upstream problem. I think they did this to make sure the °C symbol would be visible for everyone. Ftr it looks just fine here but it probably has to with fonts setup. Try installing dejavu fonts and if it is still a problem, you probably need to report this upstream (and paste the URL here). (In reply to comment #2) emerging media-fonts/dejavu solved the problem.
