That doesn't look like a glibc related failure - I had that even with glibc 2.8. Perhaps it's gcc 4.4.0 related, but the strange part of this bug is that I was able to get around it by invoking a few times (that's more than 2) 'ebuild <boost ebuild> merge'. Search for the duplicate bug - my failure happened in the same file. *** Bug 273790 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** And in case I haven't mentioned it in some other bug, I'm on x86.
