This package has been found to depend on a minimal version of portage which is no longer in the tree. This means that all currently available versions satisfy the dependency and it is not necessary anymore.

(I didn't test it without Portage but it has the check so until a Paludis (or pkgcore) user reports it's not working)

Oh, and upstream (Berlios) page (Linked from Sourceforge) says,

"Denu 2.3.1 features support for non-portage based distros. It also includes gnome 2.10 support."
