Same error with all versions of PAM in portage and after a complete system update (gcc-4.1.2, etc.). Same problem on my side with uclibc for the nslu2. Okay there are a few NIS hard dependencies on it, I'm working on a patch for this as we speak. Fixed with a patch on 1.0.2. Now it's time to send upstream. sys-libs/pam-1.0.2 still fails with the same error -- where can I get the patch? You should wait about an hour or two for the mirrors to sync up, then it should be available. I'm still getting the same error with pam-1.0.1 and pam-1.0.2. Anyone else running into this issue? It is making it a tough time installing sudo ;) My uClibc chroot just went haywire, but I'm sure it worked fine after my patch on it; can you make sure the patch is being applied? Maybe it's picking up pam from an overlay. Pretty sure it is getting applied. Made no difference for me unfortunately.
