Jer, did you had that fix in your kernel : http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/kyle/parisc-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=9f301e933211845717e02a87b389d742fe256066;hp=0a033732755b9e685cba81d0f0c87991d1f4b91e Known to cause panic with gcc-4.3. Can you reproduce this error if you compile your kernel with gcc 4.3.0? (In reply to comment #3) > Jer, did you had that fix in your kernel : > http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/kyle/parisc-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=9f301e933211845717e02a87b389d742fe256066;hp=0a033732755b9e685cba81d0f0c87991d1f4b91e No, I didn't yet. I try running a stable system as much as possible. :) nothing for toolchain to do ... Have you tried 2.6.26 ? (In reply to comment #7) > Have you tried 2.6.26 ? It's not worth trying as long as the patch isn't in. 2.6.29* fails in the very same way when built with gcc-4.3.2-r2. This is becoming more and more of a problem because gcc-4.3 should go stable soon. Should be removed when >=gcc-4.3 goes stable. --- ChangeLog 2009-05-31 16:39:22.000000000 +0200 +++ ChangeLog.new 2009-05-31 16:50:33.000000000 +0200 @@ -2,6 +2,10 @@ # Copyright 1999-2009 Gentoo Foundation; Distributed under the GPL v2 # $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/profiles/arch/hppa/ChangeLog,v 1.26 2009/05/31 14:39:22 jer Exp $ + 31 May 2009; Jeroen Roovers <jer@gentoo.org> package.use.mask: + Mask media-gfx/imagemagick[openmp] until we have a stable + sys-devel/gcc-4.3[openmp] (bug #225917). + 12 May 2009; Jeroen Roovers <jer@gentoo.org> package.use.mask: Mask dev-libs/ppl USE=prolog (bug #269556). sys-devel/gcc-4.3.3-r2 / vanilla-sources-2.6.30-rc4 fails in the same way.
