With all of the IRIX bugs that I've reported resolved, IRIX should now be capable of building every package pulled in by 'emerge system', plus extras. (except for gcc* and binutils* which I've marked as provided, in order to use the platform native compilers) Can you post your latest version of your mipspro wrapper and how you use it? I'd like to create a package for it and put it into the tree. I think we have that now, with the assistance of the IRIX-MIPSpro-wrapper system. I'm just rebuilding the 89 installed @system packages to ensure that there are no kinks I've missed, and then I'll post the details. This may take a day or so to complete... Okay - after a slight delay due to numerous package breakages because I'd accidentally commented out my CFLAGS in make.conf, I can confirm that all 89 system packages and all but 3 of the 248 packages I have installed (those failing being libgamin, minicom, and lrzsz) all re-install cleanly and successfully. (libgamin fails because it tries to use the GNU '-Wl,--version-script=foo -version-info' arguments. It can be built if MIPSPRO_PERMISSIVE=0 is set in the ebuild or environment. 'libgamin' is the only package of all 248 which requires this.) At the same time, I have overlay ebuild for 41 packages - all of which have had bugs reported upon them, but for which updated ebuilds are not yet available (although a small number may now have been superseded) How do we proceed from here? I can upload a single archive of everything (config files, ebuilds, and IRIX-MIPSpro-wrapper), or upload these separately, or anything else you'd care to suggest... We are sorry to close this bug. We lack the man-power and devotion to support mips-irix in the tree. |
