fetch appears to download the complete file

`/usr/portage/distfiles/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz' saved [2608602/2608602]

however the download progress bar stops at 50% and a fetch error is reported

This problem seems isolated to netscape-flash package.
No other packages appear to be failing fetch.
This rules out a general network connection problem.
