(In reply to comment #8) > Created an attachment (id=112794) [edit] > Xorg.0.log > by the way i tryed ubuntu edgy eft livecd and glxinfo worked and DRI also... i emerge xserver-xorg without ntpl solved i had the same problem with my old ati card (R200) after migrating from the binary ati drivers to the open-source drivers on an x86 architecture with a 2.6.30 kernel using x11-base/xorg-server-1.5.3-r6 without an xorg.conf file. for me the PROBLEM was SOLVED by adding the lines media-libs/mesa -nptl x11-base/xorg-server -nptl to the /etc/portage/package.use and run emerge -DavuN world to re-emerge these packages. still glxinfo and glxgears came up with errors and hardware acceleration was not working. but todays update to x11-apps/xinit-1.0.8-r8 fixed the problem for me :-) , so maybe anyone having this problem should maybe also `emerge xinit` again. maybe also re-doing the guides http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/dri-howto.xml and http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ati-faq.xml can help. What if you rebuild everything with USE=nptl ? Thanks |
