and if you try a newer gtk+ ? It looks like your pango (which version?) is built with Xft2 support and gtk+-2.0 doesn't support that. Use gtk+-2.2.x. Pango version 1.0.5. Compiling gtk+ 2.2 right know. compiling suggests you are beyond the configure stages, wonder why you're using these kinda old versions ? Are you non-x86 ? Yeap. I'm on sparc. I noticed a couple of hours ago that the gtk+ 2.2 packages are masked on sparc and right know I'm testing this packages to ask sparc developers to add a keyword. configure: error: pangoxft Pango backend found, but Xft not found !!! ERROR: x11-libs/gtk+-2.2.0 failed. :( ok let's get this from the ground up, best is to use pango-1.2 with gtk+-2.2 , this also should install xft-2 and fontconfig . You might want to remove all of these packages first to make sure you start -sorta- clean. needinfo Recent Gentoo Bugzilla move caused the status of this to change. Changing back. ancient, closing |
