In executing:

[ebuild  N    ] gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.14.2  USE="eds -debug -doc"

build failed because it couldn't find module libxml2.

My version of libxml2 was 2.6.19 and current version was 2.6.26

I emerged in libxml2 and gnome-panel then successfully emerged gnome-panel.
I noticed that libxml2 was AFTER gnome-panel in the dependency ordering.  I'm not sure what the implications are for changing the order of dependency.
