Description Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-15 01:58:59 UTC
Please, stabilize media-tv/xmltv-0.5.44. The current stable version is badly broken (doesn't install anything useful or straight fails) and has serious QA violations (Bug 140106).
Comment 1 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-15 02:29:29 UTC
things need to be done with a certain order..... I added dependancy
from bug #140449 cause Unicode-UTF8simple is actually only unstable,
also AMD64 needs to find a stabilized release for HTTP-Cache-Transparent,
as on this arch the 3 releases in portage are all unstable.

However I'll remove the obsoleted ebuilds (<0.5.43) of xmltv today
cause the report has been done.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-15 03:35:25 UTC
BTW, you are still missing se flag in IUSE for media-tv/xmltv-0.5.43-r4 and media-tv/xmltv-0.5.44
Comment 3 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-16 09:25:50 UTC
Jakub, se flag is impossible to have. The grabber isn't anymore present
upstream, If you refer to the dependancy line " se? (....) " I left
there in the hope that some new version of xmltv will have again the
se grabber.

(can't comment out a dependancy line, in this way is harmless but if
you think that's not elegant to have a false dep line or it may give issues
to other utilities I'll remove the line too..... as any trace of se grabber)

Well, then move it below (R)DEPEND and leave it commented out there, so that it doesn't trigger QA checks in repoman/pcheck etc. Thanks.

Comment 5 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-16 15:03:24 UTC
sorry, I checked only with "repoman full" and got no error messages,
already removed in CVS.
Comment 6 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-18 21:05:10 UTC
I moved media-video/mmsv2-0.93 back to ~x86 since the only stable xmltv went away. Really bad form removing deps used by other packages.
Comment 7 Joshua Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-27 20:49:55 UTC
it works, now I just need the rest of mythtv to work. X_X
Comment 8 Simon Stelling (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-06 13:27:49 UTC
amd64 has no stable keyword at all, so we're done here
Comment 9 BT 2006-09-18 03:40:48 UTC
is there a reason why the au grabber has been commented out in the ebuild? just wondering if it was done intentionally because of problems with the grabber or if it just an oversight.
Comment 10 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-18 05:40:17 UTC
The reason is that there isn't an up-to-date au grabber in XMLTV actually.
(ie: the old one is probably not working anymore or it had serious issues,
xmltv doesn't asks anymore for au grabber when givin the choiche for the
grabbers at configure time).
So, no au grabber until someone provides a working version upstream...
