Me too Salute Your missing /dev/null http://archives.linuxfromscratch.org/mail-archives/lfs-support/2003-September/019489.html @#2: Thats not the point i think: # ls -la null zero -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 2 May 27 18:23 null crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 5 Oct 22 2000 zero Just after posting my reply is saw that /den/null is not a device. its a file. how can this be? i'm using udev ! I've deleted and recreated my /dev/null via: # cd /dev && MAKEDEV std This solution works 4 me. The question is: Why does my /dev/null disapear? Just after system start my udev creates a correct /dev/null device node. Not sure how it happened to be honest - we've seen this bug pop up before, usually when creating stage1->3 installs (not after the fact). At least on the upside I'm not crazy :) |
