Here you go, right away :) (in responce to your call to file bugs)

I guess this goes from gnome2.eclass, which has the following in the code:
use_enable doc gtk-doc
but no doc in IUSE..

Well, as such this is not really for you as mush as for gnome people I guess, so assigning to them, CC'ng you.

Otherwise it seems to have installed Ok.. Will test localization when I get somebody online :).
