This definately isn't a portage bug, I'd guess toolchain offhand, but I'll leave it to the wranglers to re-assign. you neglected to post `emerge info` like the bug report page told you to Sorry, I should have noticed it. Here is the emerge info output: Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 Portage 2.0.53_rc7 (default-linux/x86/2005.0, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r0, 2.6.11-gentoo-r3 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.11-gentoo-r3 i686 AMD Duron(tm) processor dev-lang/python: 2.3.5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.5 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow 3dnow2 3dnowext X alsa apache2 apm audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 cdr crypt cscope cups curl divx dvd dvdread eds emboss encode esd exif expat fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif glut gmp gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 idn imagemagick imlib ipv6 java joystick jpeg kde lcms libg++ libwww lirc mad mikmod mmx mmx2 mmxext mng motif mp3 mpeg mysql mythtv ncurses net nvidia ogg oggvorbis opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl spell sse ssl tcpd tiff transcode truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev ujavasb v412 vorbis x86 xine xinerama xml2 xmms xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, MAKEOPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY how much ram do you have ? does xmame fail at the same point everytime ? if you run `CFLAGS='-O2' MAKEOPTS=-j1 emerge xmame` does it work ? Yes it seems to fail at the same point. I am trying the CFLAGS suggestion right now. I'll post it's output when it's done. I am running 512MB of RAM Using "CFLAGS='-O2' MAKEOPTS=-j1 emerge xmame " seems to have worked. |
