Bug 112421

Summary: K3b doesn't depend on kdesu
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Kalina <kruwka>
Component: [OLD] KDEAssignee: Gentoo KDE team <kde>
Status: RESOLVED INVALID
Severity: major CC: media-optical
Priority: High
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux

Runtime testing required: ---

Description Kalina 2005-11-13 08:21:42 UTC
I don't use KDE nor Gnome. After installing k3b (with kde-libs and all
dependencies) it turned out that I cannot run k3bsetup, because kdesu is
missing. I've run "emerge kdesu", but k3bsetup doesn't "see" it still. After
helping him to see kdesu and typing k3bsetup on the console, I get:
sh: kcmshell: command not found
It seems for me that k3b is missing some dependencies.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Gentoo (without KDE)
2. Install k3b (emerge k3b)
3. Run k3b and try to run k3b setup

My emerge info:

If you compiled k3b with USE="kde" then kdesu would have been installed as a
dependency. Also, kcmshell comes with kdelibs so you should have it
as /usr/kde/3.4/bin/kcmshell.
Maybe a PATH problem? Do you have /etc/env.d/46kdepaths-3.4? If not, see e.g.
bug 109698.

Welcome media-optical as new co-maintaining herd.
Comment 3 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-24 04:33:54 UTC
No response and clearly a local problem as the dependency is there.
