Description Solveig Haag 2005-11-10 17:31:57 UTC
Xarchiver is a GTK2 only frontend to rar, zip, bzip2, tar, gzip and RPM.
It does not need Gnome or KDE libs installed, so this package would be of good
use to users of lightweight desktops such as XFCE, fluxbox etc.

Sorry no, it's not. Bug #96981 concerns a software called XArchive, not XArchiver. btw, xarchiver 0.3.1 is out, it just needs a version bump.
Comment 5 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-12 12:10:52 UTC
- inheriting eutils is not needed
- src_unpack() is superfluous
Comment 6 Zeksers 2006-02-23 07:00:03 UTC
Ups, sorry.

Ebuild works fine for 0.3.1
(Even for amd64)

Would be nice if this could be included into the official portage-tree ;-)

XArchiver 0.4 is out: http://www.dsslive.org/xubuntu/ubuntu/pool/xubuntu/archive-managers/xarchiver/0.4/

Drag and Drop support now added.
Comment 9 Erlend Davidson 2006-03-27 05:31:08 UTC
This is now the official archiver for xfce (http://xarchiver.xfce.org/), and will be included after the release of xfce 4.4 (http://foo-projects.org/pipermail/xfce4-dev/2006-March/thread.html)

According to the new xarchiver site, 0.3.1 is the latest version. Renaming the above ebuild to reflect this works for me, and as an archiver it is very fast and usable.

Could this possibly be added to portage please, so that those of us who are currently using file-roller in non-gnome environments can get rid of it?

latest xarchiver-3.1.ebuild with some addition

I think its good idea to attach ebuild of latest version, and else I added ~amd64 keyword as it works well, and USE="7zip zip" as it works too, and I think users could choose what copressors do they need, and not to do it by hands. For what else "USE" needed ? :)

xarchiver svn ebuild

This ebuild installs xarchiver from svn

xfce-extra/xarchiver-0.3.9.2_beta2.ebuild

version bump.

Xarchiver is now part of Xfce4.4 and should probably be moved into xfce-extra.
(That's why this path is in the description)

app-arch/xarchiver-0.4.0.ebuild

I use xarchiver as a nicer file-roller with gnome, and so I rewrote the ebuild for 0.4.0 in a non-xfce-specific, minimal way.
Comment 14 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-06 17:22:48 UTC
xfce will take this one, as it is an official part of xfce.
Comment 15 Josh Nichols (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-06 17:23:40 UTC
0.4.2_rc2 has been added to the tree.
