Chris ~ # emerge -uDpv world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies /
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.5-r1" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.5-r1 (masked by: package.mask)
# Sebastian Bergmann <sebastian@gentoo.org> (14 Mar 2005)
# Needs more testing.

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

!!! Problem with ebuild media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.9a
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.

as a side note, this package is conflicting with other packages for already
installed files. I.e. Archive_Tar. They both own the same filename and want to
overwrite each other.
