Yup, that pisses me off, too...

It only pisses you off because you haven't read the einfo printed after
installing xorg-x11.

        einfo "If you wish to set system-wide default cursors, please create"
        einfo "/usr/local/share/cursors/${PN}/default/index.theme"
        einfo "with content: \"Inherits=theme_name\" so that future"
        einfo "emerges will not overwrite those settings."

PN = xorg-x11

Note the _local_ part in there.

Oh, sorry, mea culpa. It must have been added recently...

Yeah, it's only about two years old:

:-))) Ok, you got me. I meant I must have seen this recently which brings me to
"emerge scrolls everything off" issue (being solved in other bugs)... :-)))

Sorry for bothering...

yeah, my fault, too. indeed, einfo should be saved somewhere for laters browsing
