Description Paul Tourville 2005-07-21 13:43:02 UTC
When importing .csv files into OOo Calc from a browser (Firefox -- selecting the
"open with..." option) (hundreds of them over the course of a session), the app
becomes more and more sluggish, eating more and more CPU and RAM until the
system thrashes and becomes unusable. This happens under Gnome and KDE

Version installed: app-office/openoffice-bin 1.1.4-r1

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into a graphical session.
2. Launch Firefox and go to a site which offers you to download a .csv file.
3. Click on the link for the .csv file, such that Firefox will offer you to open
the file in an app or save it to disk.
4. Select "Open with...", such that the selected app is OOo Calc.
5. Copy content of opened OOo Calc window into another Calc Document.
6. Close the Dcoument opened by the browser and repeat.

Actual Results:
Memory consumption and CPU utilization increase for each iteration, until the
system becomes unusable.

Expected Results:
When a Document is closed, it should be closed, and no longer in memory.

This is a stage3 install.

Since this was installed from a openoffice-bin ebuild, I'm thinking most of the
make.conf stuff is irrelevant, but...

This really is a bug you should file upstream, there is not a lot we can do
about that.
