baselayout has no version associated with it. Update baselayout to 1.12.0_pre1
and cat /etc/gentoo-release output " Gentoo Base System version "

fixed in cvs ... someone forgot to rename the last $SV to $PV

Then Roy used the wrong ebuild to make -r1 .. Check the ChangeLog, I did fix it
in  -r0.
