Hmm, yeah - I've found that one before but there's zero information about the
tests, so it's pretty much useless.

On my system the emerge of automake ends with 33 failed tests. I reported the  
errors to bug-automake@gnu.org today..

i'd try re-emerging texinfo and see if that helps
