It's nice to see 1.0 in portage, thanks! Did you run perl-cleaner?
I wasn't aware I was supposed to, but I have tried now. On system "fire-eyes" I am having problems, because it keeps wanting to remerge gnome-panel, which fails. Then it asks me if i want to merge gnome-panel, and two other items. I say yes, it fails, repeat. Is there another way for us to speak so we don't turn this bug into a chat service? System "linux2" has pages and pages of things it wants to rebuild, and it is older. That system is quite a ways off from being done. Email me directly if you like, sgtphou@fire-eyes.org I am also in #gentoo as FieldySnuts, though I'm at work and I may not respond. Msg there is best idea. Thanks!
Running perl-cleaner is required after perl upgrade (and you are advised to do so by the ebuild). If some package fails to re-emerge, file a separate bug for that package.
Apparently the output at the end of the ebuild went past since perl merge was called by other ebuilds. I completed perl-cleaner on "fire-eyes" (ctl-c out of gnome-panel, it then continued on), remerged pxes however I still get the same error. "linux2" still has a long way to go before I know where that system stands.
