Hi,
this is part 1. Expect parts 2 and 3 in in some days.
Notes:
I tried to stick as close as possible to the original formatting i.e. italic
text in <e> tags and almost every occurrence of "ssh" in <c> tags and so on. 
In the "Resources" section i commented out Links which point to developerWorks
overview pages, dunno if they are useful.
Oh and if I have questions, what's the best place to ask, doc-ml or IRC?

Seriously, real life(tm) got heavily in the way and I didn't really have time
for anything. As everything normalizes right now, I think I'll get them done
this weekend.
