the /etc/init.d/omniORB has a little bug. It doesn't use the port given in the
config file ...

From what i heard, the setting in /etc/omniorb/omniORB.cfg is for ORB clients,
only. However, from what i read at
http://www.uk.research.att.com/omniORB/doc/3.0/omniORB/omniORB001.html#toc2
(1.2.1   Deprecated configuration file entries) the settings are deprecated and
therefore redundant.

@George: What do you think - is it safe to drop these lines?

Hi guys.

Well, I am not the real pro on this subject, but from what I just read it looks
like these options are deprecated and may be omitted, however I am not quite
clear on what is the way to set these values at present (may be via the file
listed in    ORBInitRef?).

Well, the "make install" itself installs this file, so i'll not tweak it.
Never touch a running system. :)
