I've just bumped net-wireless/ipw2200 to version 1.0.5, which has the ieee80211 subsystem split out (it used to be part of the driver itself). This introduced a new dependency, net-wireless/ieee80211, which forced me to drop the ~amd64 keyword. Please test net-wireless/ipw2200-1.0.5 and net-wireless/ieee80211-1.0.1 on AMD64 and keyword accordingly.
net-wireless/ieee80211-1.0.1 had compile warnings on 64bit archs, this has been fixed in net-wireless/ieee80211-1.0.2 by upstream. Please test net-wireless/ipw2200-1.0.6 and net-wireless/ieee80211-1.0.2 on AMD64 and keyword accordingly.
ATs'n'devs: Anybody with an amd64 laptop and an Intel Pro Wireless pcmcia card?
It's not a PCMCIA card - it's a miniPCI card :)
Its working for me so far. No complants yet! :) MiyamotoMusashi net # emerge info Portage 2.0.51.22-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2005.0, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r1, 2.6.12-gentoo-r5 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.12-gentoo-r5 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+ Gentoo Base System version ccache version 2.4 [disabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5, 2.4.1-r1 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.11 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.18-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=athlon64 -O3 -ffast-math -funroll-all-loops -funit-at-a-time -fpeel-loops -ftracer -funswitch-loops" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/splash /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon64 -O3 -ffast-math -funroll-all-loops -funit-at-a-time -fpeel-loops -ftracer -funswitch-loops" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/ http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 X alsa apache2 audiofile avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bluetooth bonobo cddb cdparanoia cdr crypt cups curl dba dbus dts dvd dvdr eds encode epiphany esd ethereal evo evo2 exif fam flac flash foomaticdb fortran gd gdbm gif gimpprint glitz gnokii gnome gphoto2 gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile hal hbci howl icq icu imagemagick imap imlib ipv6 irmc jabber java jpeg junit kde ldap libwww lirc lzw lzw-tiff mad matroska mikmod motif mozilla mp3 mpeg mpeg4 msn mysql ncurses network nfsv4 nls nptl offensive ofx ogg oggvorbis opengl oscar oss pam pcmcia pdflib perl php png pnp ppds python qt quicktime quotes readline real ruby samba sdl silc sndfile speex spell ssl subversion svg tcpd theora tiff transcode truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb userlocales vcd visualization vorbis wifi xanim xine xml xml2 xmms xpm xv yahoo zeroconf zlib video_cards_radeon userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
AMD64: is the above confirmation enough to get the ~amd64 keyword added to the new ebuilds?
you can add ~amd64 ... (I'm at work right now.. can't do it myself)
Thanks. I've marked net-wireless/ipw2200-1.0.6 and net-wireless/ieee80211-1.0.3 ~amd64 now.
