I would like to see an ebuild for the "Magus" project added to the portage tree. Magus is a character generator for the role-playing game Midgard which is rather popular in Germany (since this game was never translated into English, also Magus is not in English). I have written an .ebuild and have tested it on amd64 and x86 architecture (therefore, I masked it ~amd64 and ~x86; I guess, some other architectures should work as well, but I cannot test them). You can find my .ebuild at the above URL - I tried to follow all advices for developers, so I hope you could just add it to the portage tree as-is. Since the "Magus" project is under heavy development and is usually not releasing any tar-balls, I think it is the best to have a cvs-only ebuild script. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
in the future, attach ebuilds and such to the bugreport rather than using an external URL ... otherwise we have to rely on the URL always staying valid that said, we generally dont like adding live cvs ebuilds (let alone for games) because users complain to us when they break ...
Created attachment 63178 [details] magus-cvs-0.9.9.ebuild
People can feel free to download the ebuild from bugzilla and use this live cvs ebuild from their overlay but we won't be adding it to the portage tree. There's policy regarding live cvs ebuilds on gentoo.org. Marking WONTFIX.
