include a line in the install docs that explains how the boot partition can often contain left over fat32 information which will cause it to mount as vfat thus screwing up the entire installation. maybe just have them run dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda1 all the time as a precaution ()the partition should already be empty anyway.
Okay, I wil add a mention for this. The partition has to be clobbered w/ /dev/zero before formatting it, then one has to make sure that the disklabel is set correctly under fdisk. I will fix this.
