Description Martin 2005-07-10 11:28:54 UTC
this bug occurs since licq-1.3.0-r3

when compiling licq without the gentoo-patches everything works ok

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start licq
2. put your Partner on your visible list
3. log out
4. select to be (online) vivisible or any other invisible state
5. login again as invisible
6. ask your partner if you you are online

Actual Results:
your partner can't see you (you seem to be offline)

Expected Results:
you should be visible to your partner but he should also see that you are
invisible (the eye or ghost symbol)

Comment 1 Martin 2005-07-12 06:01:21 UTC
moreover even the other way round is broken ...

beeing visible online and having somebody on the visible list results in beeing
invisible to that person, hving that person on the invisible list seems to
result in beeing visible (!) ...
Comment 2 Konstantin Arkhipov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-14 12:19:43 UTC
is it reproducible with daily licq's snapshots?
Comment 3 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-15 03:27:51 UTC
Hi,

I tried to compile snapshots from 12th July and today with no success. But I can
confirm that with versions 1.3.0-r4 to -r6 I have the same problem.

I succeded in compiling the 20050716 snapshot with the not msn-USE-Flag aware
ebuild the other fails while doing automake

The visible-list is still not correct - but it's now harder to reproduce it
everything is ok when switching to online and having somebody on the visible list

when switching from online to invisible(online) everybody see you as invisible,
regardless of membership in visible-list

when switching from offline to invisible(online) nobody see you, also regardless
of membership in visible-list

also the groups are not or only delayed updated when changing the group membership

I've tested it with my notbook and my home licq-account (just a few minutes ago)
Comment 5 Konstantin Arkhipov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-08-04 00:22:21 UTC
is it still reproducible with 1.3.0-r7?
Comment 6 Branislav 2005-08-04 03:14:07 UTC
(In reply to comment #5)
> is it still reproducible with 1.3.0-r7?

Yes.

If I log on with my ICQ-Account, Buddies in the "visible list" still can't see
me, but deleting and re-assigning them to the "visible list" seems to send an
update, though.

Tested it with an AOL-Account in GAIM logged in and restarting the licq app
after emerge and logging in.
Comment 7 Konstantin Arkhipov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-09-02 03:48:53 UTC
i believe this issue is fixed in 1.3.0-r8
Comment 8 Martin 2005-09-02 14:13:38 UTC
should I reopen the Bug ?

for me it is still broken...
the fixes in licq-cvs from 2005-08-25 seem not to help
the workaround with removing the user from visible list and adding him again
doesn't anymore .

futhermore the encrytion does not work, too
licq throws now a "beeing spoofed" warning
(yes, we both sit behind a linux based router ...)
