Description Marshall T. Vandegrift 2005-07-09 14:18:41 UTC
The patch 'dpkg-1.10.27.gcc4.patch' fails to apply when attempting to emerge
dpkg-1.10.28. The problem appears to be that the proper patch from bug 96394 was never actually
committed to portage. Using the version of the patch attached to that bug
instead results in a successful merge.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge app-arch/dpkg

Actual Results:
The emerge fails:
* Failed Patch: dpkg-1.10.27.gcc4.patch !
* ( /usr/portage/app-arch/dpkg/files/dpkg-1.10.27.gcc4.patch )

Expected Results:
The app-arch/dpkg package should have been successfully merged.

dpkg-1.10.27.gcc4.patch from bug #96394

This is the working version of the dpkg-1.10.27.gcc4 patch, duplicated from the
attachment to bug #96394.

I'm sorry, the diff header was borked (missing a lib/). In CVS, FIXED!

I did an emerge sync followed by an emerge dpkg and it still doesn't work for me...

Broken for me as well
Comment 8 Micheal Marineau (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-18 12:19:47 UTC
But using the attached patch works perfectly, but diff between the two files
doesn't show anything....

/me is confused.
