in portage. thanks.
Comment 4 Heinrich Nirschl 2005-07-11 22:27:48 UTC
It seems that there are different versions of Pixie-src-1.4.3.tgz on the
sourceforge mirrors. I got

MD5 b534707bfcde35da5992172d4da9ac92 Pixie-src-1.4.3.tgz 4709778

and

MD5 553bd3f2c76fa569293a07f905863426 Pixie-src-1.4.3.tgz 4707687

The download page
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=59462&package_id=55537&release_id=340375
gives a file size of 4707687 so I assume this is the most recent version. The
tree currently contains the digest of the longer file.

Because of this I saw the following behaviour:
1) portage downloaded the shorter file
2) since the length is too short it assumes the download is incomplete, searches
for another mirror and downloads the remaining 2K
3) it eventually fails with a wrong digest because the file is now a mixture of
both versions

Ok, I'm gonna ask Okan what's going on there...
Comment 6 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-12 16:48:28 UTC
Ok... well Okan said he made 2 1.4.3 releases. The newer one has just one
bugfix. He didn't let me know which md5sum was the correct ("new") one, but he
did say he's going to be releasing 1.4.4 pretty soon anyways, so I'm just going
to wait for that release, bump it, and remove 1.4.3 from the tree. I've asked
him to be more careful about this in the future, so hopefully it won't be an
issue again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Comment 7 Heinrich Nirschl 2005-07-26 10:14:27 UTC
Works now with the newer versions. Thanks.
