Description nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-07 21:56:39 UTC
There is one spelling error, and I've removed the ampersands ("&") in the
interest of consistent syntax. The ampersands are unnecessary, as the rest of
the About page is written using complete sentences, or at least unabbreviated
sentence fragments.

I've attached a patch with the corrections, including substituting "and" for "&".

learnt is correct spelling:
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=learnt

usage of & is also ok ... it is used to join small ideas/items rather than large
sentences (which is when 'and' is used)

Very well, then. I wasn't sure how formal the language was supposed to be; I
just went for consistency. And "learnt" sounded a little too
informal/antiquated/Texan.

drobbins lives in New Mexico ... does that count ? :)

we try to keep the language semi-informal ... keeps the reader engaged with
useful info while avoiding dry spells
