Please change the line StartupNotify=true to StartupNotify=false in
mplayer.desktop because gmplayer does _not_ support startup notification.

Symptoms of the problem (and steps to reproduce):
 - launch mplayer from the gnome menu
 - wait until it is started
 - move the cursor above its window: the cursor changes into an hour-glass,
   although the program is already running
