As with my success reported in bug #98161: I had no issues with emerging ipw2200-firmware 2.3 on a 2005.0-based Centrino laptop with 2200BG miniPCI. My current set up involves roaming between two different WPA-PSK TKIP secured networks. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Since this only needs to be installed once, I have not re-installed. I have needed to re-install the module (ipw2200 1.0.4) due to multiple kernel installations, and have not had a single issue. Actual Results: Had no troubles connecting to multiple WPA-PSK TKIP secured networks. This could be marked stable, perhaps with more success stories. I only got to test with gcc 3.4.4 (testing) and kernels 2.6.11-r11 (gentoo-sources) and 2.6.12.2 (not in portage).
This driver is not stable for all people. We have had lots of bug reports upstream about this version.
