I emerged qmail-scanner-1.20 on 6/9/04 for testing. Some time in September we brought the new mail server online and have been using it ever since. We are using spamassassin, and f-prot (also masked). It does however, seem to take a long time to scan a file (~260 sec for a file with 6.4MB zip attachment), which may or may not be due to how we have it configured. If anyone else can attest to this package working perhaps it can be moved into the stable pool. Feel free to request additional info..
