I'm using licq-1.3.0-r5. When I check "Show graphical smiles instead of text ones", graphical smiles work fine - until I close licq. This setting is not saved, I have to check the box again after each start of licq. After I commented out the line cd ${S}/plugins/qt-gui && epatch ${FILESDIR}/${PV}-koloboks.patch in /usr/portage/net-im/licq/licq-1.3.0-r5.ebuild, the config option has gone, but graphical smiles work all the time.
