Description Dave Andruczyk 2002-10-27 13:11:12 UTC
On my system (Dell Inspiron 7000 A366LT laptop) whenthe 1.4RC1 cd boots the
kernel panics when loading the cpqarray (Compaq Drive Array) driver. Booting
continues and I can login. After logging in the "cpqarray" module is in
"Initializing" state indefinitely. I cannot build the system because PCMCIA is
not included in this release (seperate bug already reported by others)

to be honest, it *doesnt matter*
Comment 2 Daniel Robbins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-16 23:11:53 UTC
Hi Dave,

Thanks for the bug report (I didn't like SpanKY's comment which was
inappropriate.) This issue should be fixed in the latest 121600 livecd at
http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd. I think I can definitively close
this bug because cpqarray isn't in the autodetect list anymore, nor built in to
the kernel (it can be loaded manually by those who have the hardware.)
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:23 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
