Description Dick Marinus 2002-10-27 12:22:21 UTC
I -think- it doesn't register either, because it should go -over- the
"highest: 2,016.6" rating on http://stats.gentoo.org/statistics-general.htm
(hehehe)
It also bothers me i can't register through a proxy which asks for
authorization (I've fixed that with some "smart tunneling" ...)
Please help me :)

here are my commando+output i used for registering:

hypocritium root # gentoo-stats --new

Comment 1 Dick Marinus 2002-10-28 05:31:41 UTC
I've found 1 error...

# If you are behind a proxy and can't get through to
# http://stats.gentoo.org, you might want to set this.
#
# Example: HTTP_PROXY="http://proxy.mysite.com:8080"
#
# Default: (none)

is INCORRECT

you should NOT specify http://

is should be:

# If you are behind a proxy and can't get through to
# http://stats.gentoo.org, you might want to set this.
#
# Example: HTTP_PROXY="proxy.mysite.com:8080"
#
# Default: (none)

but the "highest: 2,016.6" text is still on the site... :(
Comment 2 Maik Schreiber 2002-11-11 17:53:59 UTC
I've made some updates to the server-side code recently. Does the problem still
persist?
Comment 3 Dick Marinus 2002-11-12 11:46:43 UTC
nope, the memory "score" isn't updated on the site yet....
Comment 4 Dick Marinus 2002-12-03 14:07:18 UTC
The problem still persists... Could you please give me some debug-hints?
Comment 5 Dick Marinus 2002-12-29 11:32:15 UTC
I've ran perl -d `which gentoo-stats` and saw there were some authentication problems on the
proxy server... I connected directly (well through a ssh tunnel) to the stats.gentoo.org server
and it worked...
highest: 4,013.3 MB is now in the site
Could you please warn about the proxy settings in the configuration file?
Comment 6 Maik Schreiber 2002-12-29 11:36:17 UTC
Have you tried "http://user:password@my.proxy.com" for the proxy setting? I'm
not quite sure if this works, but sounds good to me.
