When trying to update to scrollkeeper-0.3.14-r1, the compile fails with this: checking for DocBook XML DTD... configure: error: not found. Make sure you have the DocBook DTD installed and ensure that it is registered in /etc/xml/catalog. Following instructions from this site: http://dev.gentoo.org/~satai/sgmlfix.html I un-emerged and re-emerged all my docbook releated packages with no luck.

I don't know what exactly did you do to your system, but certainly the file /etc/xml/catalog should be there by the time scrollkeeper has processed its dependencies. The instructions from the web page you mention are intended for people with packages installed from obsolete ebuilds (before 2002). Even for those cases, it is a risky procedure, and unless you know what you're doing you can end up with a broken global XML catalog. Try emerging manually: emerge ~app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 emerge scrollkeeper
