did you try gcc 3.2.1 ?
I've had this problem too, but it said Line 358 in src_compile. CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe" Before it starts building it says that you have to set CFLAGS to "less agressive" settings. I'm going to try setting my CFLAGS to the defaults, but shouldn't the ebuild automatically set these if it needs to?
