Followed new (I think) instruction for Installing Portage, located at, http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2005.0/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=5, in the section, "Copy Source Code Archives", cp /mnt/cdrom/distfiles/* /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles/ and got error, cp: omitting directory `/mnt/cdrom/distfiles/cvs-src' I'm using install-x86-universal-2005.0.iso and portage snapshot, portage-20050625.tar.bz2. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. cp /mnt/cdrom/distfiles/* /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles/ 2. 3. Actual Results: cp: omitting directory `/mnt/cdrom/distfiles/cvs-src' Expected Results: Silent recursive copy of all files and directories of /mnt/cdrom/distfiles/* to /mnt/gentoo/usr/portage/distfiles/ I think this is a new instruction added to the 2005 Handbook.
Actually, the handbook is correct. We don't want the cvs-src directory. Also, any bugs with the documentation do not belong to the release group, as we do not manage the documentation.
