I met this bug also.

The last instance of gcc takes 184 megabytes of memory and finally crashes.

gcc -O2 -march=pentium2 -pipe -I/var/tmp/portage/winesetuptk-0.6.0b-r3/work/winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tcltk-winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tcl8.3.2/generic -I/var/tmp/portage/winesetuptk-0.6.0b-r3/work/winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tcltk-winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tk8.3.2/generic -I/var/tmp/portage/winesetuptk-0.6.0b-r3/work/winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tcltk-winesetuptk-0.6.0b/itcl3.1.0/itcl/generic -I/var/tmp/portage/winesetuptk-0.6.0b-r3/work/winesetuptk-0.6.0b/tcltk-winesetuptk-0.6.0b/itcl3.1.0/itk/generic -c winesetuptk.c

Have tried with make -j4 and -j2 and -j1, no difference. Have tried with -Os and -O2, no difference. Now trying without distcc, will report what happens.

Emerge info:

Comment 4 Kimmo Sundqvist 2004-11-22 07:56:36 UTC
Didn't work with distcc and didn't work without distcc. I have two machines that have succesfully compiled this, but the one with the freshest setup is the one that has problems.
