I only file this bug because I can't reopen Bug 75256, which is marked fixed but isn't. The stable imlib2-1.2.0-r2 still has the problem that "imlib2-config --cflags" returns just an empty line and therefore pypanel-2.0 builds no binary. And since this has been marked stable those who upgrade pypanel (to the supposedly stable version) loose the pypanel binary. The "fix" suggested in the original bug report might work but to have the user manually downgrade a stable library in order to make pypanel-2.0 compile isn't the behaviour one would expect of a stable package (imho). So either make pypanel-2.0 depend on <imlib2-1.2.x or mark it unstable again and wait for 2.3 to get stable. See also http://forums.gentoo.org//viewtopic-t-352669.html and the original bug report. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
this issue is fixed in 2.3... please use that version
2.3 is not stable, yet 2.0 is. And you are telling me "I know 2.0 fails to emerge but I don't care." ??? What exactly is the definition of "a stable package"? Is it really too much to ask for, that on a completely stable system one gets only those packages that actually work?
i stabalized 2.3 before i made that comment
