This is an old bug, and the main release has changed to 2.5.2.

I have modified the old ebuild to work with 2.5.2 and commited it
to the tree.  It appears to work.  Will mark x86 after further testing.

I assume we can close this bug?

Don't bother with priorities in the future, they're mostly ignored, unlike severity.  Anyway, if this package is in the tree, then I would resolve the bug.  As for having it marked x86, please contact the x86 arch team at [e-mail] and inform them that you'll be marking vmware-console* stable since they won't be able to test it.  I'm on the team and I've got your back on it.  =]

OK, closing this bug then since the ebuild is in the tree and working.
