There's a new version of the e1000 driver available at http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?strState=LIVE&ProductID=983&DwnldID=2897&lang=eng -> http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/T8Clearance.aspx?sType=&agr=&ProductID=983&DwnldID=2897&url=/2897/eng/e1000-6.0.60.tar.gz&PrdMap=&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng The version is 6.0.60. In portage, there's 5.2.52.
Martin, looks like you're maintaining e1000. Please add an metadata.xml.
whats the status of this? there is 6.2.15 out already.
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=522433 Actually we're looking at 6.3.9 now
Created attachment 79925 [details] e1000-6.3.9 ebuild This package hasn't been updated in ages. I helped myself and made a new ebuild based on the latest available in portage. I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to portage, but it works for me. YMMV.
Do you know what version is shipping with kernel 2.6.15 (is this ebuild still necessary)?
(In reply to comment #5) > Do you know what version is shipping with kernel 2.6.15 (is this ebuild still > necessary)? I'm not sure, but the kernel documentation is from 5.x.x

(In reply to comment #5) > Do you know what version is shipping with kernel 2.6.15 (is this ebuild still > necessary)? > The ebuild from Hack was useful for me to get my on-board ethernet to work properly for wake-on-lan after shutdown (02:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82540EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 02)). The one in the kernel didn't work for me. (on 2.6.15-gentoo-r1)
Re comment #5 $ pwd /usr/src/linux-2.6.16-gentoo-r8/drivers/net/e1000 $ grep "#define DRV_VERSION" * e1000_main.c:#define DRV_VERSION "6.3.9-k4"DRIVERNAPI HTH, Brad

Ideally we want to remove the existing version from portage too. mholzer, how do you feel about this?
