Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2005-06-20 06:45:11 UTC
To prevent portage from downgrading nessus since some days I have to define the
apropriate entries not only in package.keywords but also in package.unmask.
That's why I created the file package.unmask with the contents:

n22 /etc/portage # cat package.unmask
=net-analyzer/libnasl-2.3.1
=net-analyzer/nessus-2.3.1
=net-analyzer/nessus-core-2.3.1
=net-analyzer/nessus-libraries-2.3.1
=net-analyzer/nessus-plugins-2.3.1

But some days ago it was enough to have defined only the following in
package.keywords:

n22 /etc/portage # tail -n 6 package.keywords
net-analyzer/libnasl ~x86
net-analyzer/nessus ~x86
net-analyzer/nessus-core ~x86
net-analyzer/nessus-libraries ~x86
net-analyzer/nessus-plugins ~x86

Sonething wrong with my system or something changed in the package management ?

No. If a package goes from ~arch to package.mask, you need to specifically
unmask it; package.unmask and package.keywords are two different things, see
'man portage'
