Do you have prelude-nids installed? Prelude-nids is "deprecated" and won't work with libprelude-0.9. If that is the case and you want to work with unstable prelude, please use snort for your sensors instead.
I just added a warning message to net-analyzer/prelude-nids and made =dev-libs/libprelude-0.9.0_rc8 block net-analyzer/prelude-nids to avoid the problem I described in the future. Please tell me if this fixes your issue.
