HBench-OS is a suite of portable benchmarks designed to measure the performance of primitive functionality provided by an operating system/hardware platform. http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/vino/perf/hbench/
No activity in one year. If you are still interested in this, attach an ebuild. There are over 2000 bugs filed for new ebuilds, if you want something in portage, at least attempt an ebuild. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=2&chap=1 http://devmanual.gentoo.org/ Thanks.
Sorry, should have closed this sooner. I recommend that hbench not ever be moved into portage. Essentially it is a fork of lmbench-1.1, but according to a post, all reasons for the fork were addressed by the lmbench package in later revisions. http://fresh.t-systems-sfr.com/unix/src/privat2/lmbench-2.5.tgz:a/lmbench-2.5/hbench-REBUTTAL
