Description Henrik Brix Andersen 2005-06-17 06:02:52 UTC
A hack was added to media-plugins/gst-plugins-theora-0.8.9 to make it depend on a specific version of media-libs/libtheora, which is an unslotted package.

This causes media-libs/libtheora to be constantly upgraded downgraded when running `emerge -uD world`.

The correct approach would be to mask media-libs/libtheora-1.0_alpha4 until the bug causing media-plugins/gst-plugins-theora-0.8.9 to segfault is solved.

Seems that the other players already upgraded to the new libtheora. isn't
possible to have an updated gst plugin (or temp mask the plugin?)
Comment 2 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2005-06-18 09:24:57 UTC
ok
the alpha4 has broken encoding (tested)

I guess we should find out what's wrong and/or notify upstream about that
