Fails in ./configure with following message:

checking for javac... no
checking for gcj... gcj -C
checking if gcj -C works... yes
checking for jar... no
configure: error: no acceptable jar program found in $PATH

this was a mistaken unmasking.  please emerge rsync and try again, db-4 should
not even show up..

grant did an emerge rsync sort you then?

I haven't been able to test it yet.  I'm working from portage snapshots, not 
rsync, and the Oct 24 snapshot file on ftp.ibiblio.orgt is empty for some 
reason.  I'll have to wait for tomorrow.
